What is TUA?

During its 40+ years of existence, Twirling Unlimited competitions have all been directed by TU staff – starting with Founder Ardath Franck and then expanding to directors trained with her and eventually more who trained with those staff directors.  This format has been very successful for offering consistency, but by its very nature, it has geographic limitations.  After many, many requests for Twirling Unlimited competitions in other areas, the TU Board of Directors has, for the past 18 months, grappled with how to effectively offer the TU experience in other areas, while still maintaining the integrity, positivity, and consistency TU is known for.  In response to this need, Twirling Unlimited Affiliates (“TUA”) was born.

“TUA” -or Twirling Unlimited Affiliates - is an arm of Twirling Unlimited.    Competitions operating under the TUA banner agree with the Core Values, Mission and Vision of TU and will follow all TU Rules, use TU score sheets, TU age groups, and the TU flexible awards system. TU Affiliated competitions must follow authorization procedures and have official approval to utilize the Twirling Unlimited Affiliate organizational name and format, but may be directed by someone other than a TU staff director.  All geographic locations within 400 miles of TU HQ in Akron, OH will still be handled in the traditional TU format - but TUA will allow the Twirling Unlimited experience to be introduced to areas that are farther away.

     We're delighted that so many have had such a positive experience with TU that they are interested in offering exposure to TU involvement in their home states.
