First Grants Awarded |
| The first of the monies from the interest generated by the donations to the Fred Franck Memorial Foundation were distributed in late 2005 to the victims of the hurricanes. One grant went to Jackie Tucker of Arcadia, Florida, who formed the “Wranglerettes”. Jackie offered a 12 week introduction to the sport of baton twirling that was absolutely FREE to the youth of Desoto County, Florida. Jackie reports that about 35 girls marched in a recent rodeo parade in cowboy hats and t-shirts (provided free, with the help of the grant) and they received the “Most Spirited” award. |
